Twin Cities Orthopedics offshoot Revo Health partners with Medtronic — 4 insights

Medtronic entered into a value-based partnership with Revo Health with an undisclosed investment, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Minneapolis-based Twin Cities Orthopedics created Revo Health to help physician groups start and manage bundled-payment programs.

2. Revo will leverage its partnership with Medtronic to facilitate bundled-payment programs at a variety of institutions, including ASCs. TCO performs most of its procedures at standalone surgery centers to reduce cost.

3. As a result of the investment, Medtronic now owns a minority portion of Revo.

4. Medtronic said it pursued the partnership to get a better understanding of how bundles work in the ASC space.
