1. The plan promotes high quality at a low cost. BlueCare Direct is Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s lowest-cost insurance offering and has low monthly premiums and low out-of-pocket costs.
2. Patients enrolled in BlueCare Direct will have access to more than 4,000 Advocate Health Care primary care and specialty physicians throughout Cook, DuPage, Lake, Kane and Will counties. The plan has more than 250 sites of care including nine hospitals and a children’s hospital with two campus locations.
3. The plan’s open enrollment begins on Nov. 1, 2015 and ends on Jan. 31, 2016.
4. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois is the largest health insurance company in Illinois, comprised of 8.1 million members.
5. Advocate Health Care is the largest health system in the state and one of the largest healthcare providers in the Midwest.
