Rhode Island to take on price transparency with payer claims database

Rhode Island is scheduled to launch its all-payer claims database to the public this year, according to a GovernmentHealthIT report.

Six years ago the state’s legislature mandated the creation of such a database, and now new funding is helping bring that database to the public.

The Rhode Island Department of Health is contracting with Arcadia Healthcare Solutions, OnPoint Health Data and 3M Health Information Systems to aggregate and present the data, according to the report.
