Harrisburg-based Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania has agreed to pay $790,000 to settle allegations of submitting false claims, the Justice Department announced July 22.
What happened?
- Between Sept. 1, 2018, and April 7, 2025, the group submitted claims to Medicare for Evaluation and Management (E&M) services in violation of Medicare rules.
- According to the Justice Department, the group improperly billed Medicare Part B for E&M services provided on the same day patients received bilateral eye injection — an act prohibited under applicable Medicare regulations.
