Around 75 percent of survey respondents said the patient responsibility increased in 2012, with 30 percent citing a significant increase. Online payments could make a big difference if more patients decide to adapt those methods, as in 2012 81 percent of providers said it took more than a month to collect patient payments, according to the report.
