Outsourced Healthcare IT Market to Grow to $50B by 2018

The market value for outsourced healthcare information technology, for purposes such as billing and revenue cycle management, will grow from $35 billion in 2013 to $50.4 billion in 2018, according to a Markets and Markets report.
The market is made up of IT outsourcing for providers, payers, life science, operational needs and infrastructure. Major factors driving the growth include pressure to lower healthcare costs and increased cash flow management needs.

North America will hold the biggest share of the market at 72 percent, with the continent's market value jumping from $25 billion to $36 billion in 2018.
