Only 13% of healthcare professionals ‘highly confident’ heading into ICD-10: 7 key points

Healthcare providers’ level of confidence remains low as the ICD-10 deadline continues to approach. Here are seven things to know from NueMD’s third “Attitudes Towards ICD-10” survey.

•    13 percent of respondents are “highly confident” their businesses will be prepared for the October ICD-10 deadline.
•    11 percent of respondents are “highly confident” their employees will properly trained in time for the ICD-10 deadline.
•    31 percent of respondents are “not at all confident” their businesses will be prepared by Oct. 1.
•    35 percent of respondents are “not at all confident” their employees will be properly trained in time.
•    65 percent of respondents are concerned about claims processing.
•    70 percent of respondents expect their finances to be affected negatively.
•    70 percent of respondents expect their operations to be affected negatively.
