Officials implore rural Ohioans to enroll in health insurance — 5 key notes

U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services are strongly advising rural uninsured Ohioans to enroll in healthcare coverage before the Jan. 31 deadline, according to Paulding Progress.

Here are five key notes:

1. Ohio had the lowest enrollment in the Great Lakes Region in 2015.

2. In 2015, the state had the third lowest enrollment in the country.

3. Nearly six in 10 Ohioans are eligible for plans costing $75 or less a month in premiums after tax credits.

4. Nearly eight in 10 Ohioans who return to shop the insurance marketplace could save an average of $923 each year in premiums with a plan offering the same level coverage.

5. Ohio residents can choose from 17 insurers and an average of 81 plans this year.
