CMS has announced it will not conduct the testing, which would track the effectiveness of claim transmitting. MGMA wrote a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius this week asking the organization to reverse its decision, which could help reduce the cash flow disruption many physicians are expecting from the ICD-10 transition.
CMS representatives have said they feel confident the level of testing already completed each quarter is enough for claims to be processed correctly.
ICD-10 goes into effect Oct. 1, 2014.
