Independent Health and Chautauqua IDS create value-based agreement: 3 notes

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Independent Health and Chautauqua IDS are teaming to create a value-based reimbursement system, the Observer Today reports.

Here’s what you need to know.

1. Chautauqua Integrated Delivery System and its 139 physicians will begin providing care to people covered in Independent’s Medicare branch.

2. Independent selected the Chautauqua physicians because of their track record of “delivering a high level of coordinated care to their patients,.”

3. The two organizations are exploring a similar arrangement for Independent’s commercial and group businesses in the future.
