All comments on the deadline extension are due to HHS no later than 5 p.m. eastern time May 17. HHS said it believes the change in the compliance date for ICD-10 will give providers and other covered entities more time to prepare and fully test their systems to ensure a smooth and coordinated transition among all industry segments.
