HHS officials are meeting with pharmaceutical companies in an attempt to get the companies to voluntarily lower their drug prices, The Hill reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The Trump administration has yet to introduce any formal policy around drug pricing, however President Donald Trump has decreed on several occasions lowering drug prices was a major goal.

2. The Hill reports it’s unclear if the meetings have had an effect.

3. Inside Health Policy believes the Trump administration will announce it has reached a deal with the makers of insulin to lower the cost of the drug for people without insurance.

4. HHS Secretary Alex Axar said the department would like to work with pharmaceutical companies, but would take action if the industry was uncooperative.
