Chairman Brady said he finds it unlikely these discussions will impact the repeal’s timeline, but noted such conversations are beneficial.
Chairman Brady said the following about the town hall meeting he attended, “We had some people who feel strongly for ObamaCare and all those high prices and premiums. I stayed late to make sure we could visit with as many as we could, and so I think all this input is healthy.”
The Republican Party is not completely unified behind the timeline of the repeal.
Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly conducted an interview with President Donald Trump earlier this month. Mr. O’Reilly asked President Trump if the American people can expect a health plan rollout this year, to which, President Trump said, “I would like to say by the end of the year at least the rudiments but we should have something within the year and the following year.”
However, Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) told the media he would like to see the ACA gone within two or three months. Republican officials around the country are facing heat from residents who advocate strongly against ACA repeal.
