HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell discussed major strides the administration has accomplished with the ACA during a speech in the White House’s Eisenhower Executive Office Building, according to The Washington Post.

Here are four points:

1. Ms. Burwell noted that 20 million Americans now have coverage through ACA plans and Medicaid expansion.

2. On the heels of President-elect Donald Trump’s win, she said the ACA is “woven into the fabric of our nation,” insinuating it will be challenging for a Republican administration to repeal President Barack Obama’s health law.

3. The day after the election, 105,000 Americans bought ACA coverage, which Ms. Burwell said speaks to how Americans value the health law.

4. In her speech, Ms. Burwell said, “The time may be running out on this administration, but it has chosen all of you to carry on this legacy — to build healthier communities and a stronger nation.”
