CMS Remains Silent on ICD-10 Delay

President Barack Obama signed the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 into law on April 1, effectively delaying ICD-10 by one year. But, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has yet to issue a response to the delay, according to a HealthData Management report.

The American Health Information Management Association requested information from CMS on the technical issues associated with the now extended deadline, but has not received a response yet.

The CMS website has not been updated to reflect a change in deadline for the switch to the new code set.
