The new network is designed to help healthcare stakeholders move towards value-based payments. CMS invites all payers, providers, employers, purchasers, states and consumers to participate in the network.

Goals of the network include:

•    Bringing together participants through events such as meetings, working groups and webinars
•    Facilitating the delivery of better healthcare
•    Improved spending of healthcare dollars
•    Providing its members with support

Participating members will be asked to set organization-specific goals for alternative payment models and participate in progress reporting within the first six months of joining.

Anthem and Cigna have already joined the network.
