1. The total care program is the industry’s largest value-based care program.

2. According to data from the National Committee for Quality Assurance, the total care program is outperforming competitors by 96 percent in nationally consistent, industry quality measures.

For example, the total care program has had:

  • 275,000 fewer emergency department visits
  • 7 percent more complete HbA1c tests for diabetic patients
  • 5 percent increase in medication adherence for patients with cardiovascular disease
  • 15 percent decline in year-over-year hospitalizations

3. Total care has also decreased cost trends by 35 percent compared to other providers, according to Blue Cross Blue Shield Axis data.

4. Total care has approximately 19 million enrolled members. The program has increased membership by 50 percent since its 2015 launch.
