OR Manager collected data from 196 ASC leaders from March 28 to May 31. Respondents were either OR Manager subscribers or part of an external list.
Three comments from respondents:
1. “Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement not enough to cover expensive supplies or implants.”
2. “Insurance companies more difficult to deal with (requiring more documentation for precertifications and denying payment after surgery performed).”
3. “Increasing cost of supplies (mainly implants) and bundled payments not reflecting some of those increased costs.”
