A changing tune? 4 points on seniors wanting more government intervention in Medicare prices

An AARP survey found adults over 50 years want the federal government to negotiate drug prices for Medicare, according to USA Today.

Here are four points:

1. Seniors also want the federal government to require pharmaceutical companies to explain their pricing process.

2. More than 93 percent of seniors favored Medicare price negotiation.

3. In 2007, only 87 percent of seniors favored government negotiations on Medicare pricing.

4. Almost all respondents (98 percent) said they should be able to compare prescription drug prices and effectiveness.
