For the survey, the Advisory Board polled 30 employed medical groups.
Here are five key points:
1. Of those polled, 70 percent reported being “concerned” or “totally freaked out” over MACRA.
2. Twenty percent said they were confident in their MACRA preparation. Only 10 percent reported feeling “ambivalent.”
3. Seventy-percent of respondents expect to participate in CMS’ Merit-Based Incentive Payment System, while 25 percent believe they will participate in alternative payment models.
4. For medical groups saying they would likely partake in MIPS, 50 percent said they will be ready enough to report date for the full 2017 calendar year.
5. More than half of respondents (58 percent) said MACRA was the driver behind consolidation in their markets.
