1. Forbes argues Hopkins, Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group and Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna are the fastest adopters of value-based care models, with Anthem trailing.
2. While Anthem currently has 43 percent of its operating budget tied to value-based care, the company wants at least 50 percent of its budget tied to value-based care by 2018.
3. Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini said during an earnings call the company is on pace to meet its 2020 goal of 75 percent value-based care spending.
4. UnitedHealth spent approximately $52 billion of its $115 billion annual budget on value-based initiatives.
