2 bills aim for greater price transparency in Oregon

Two different bills in Oregon are pushing to increase healthcare price transparency in the state, according to a Statesman Journal report.

Senate Bill 891 is sponsored by Senator Elizabeth Steiner Hayward (D-Beaverton). The bill would require healthcare facilities to post prices of their top 100 inpatient and outpatient procedures by top insurer and public programs both online and onsite, according to the report.

Senate Bill 900 supported by the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems, would create an all payer claims database.
