The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association have granted the Primary Stroke Center at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City advanced certification as a comprehensive stroke center, according to an Iowa Now report.
The Primary Stroke Center is the first facility in Iowa to earn comprehensive stroke center certification.
