In late September, John Bonadies, MD, of Hamden was reprimanded for improperly using a tack that lacerated a patient’s coronary artery during surgery in 2008. In a separate case, Gregory Criscuolo, MD, of Norwich was reprimanded earlier this month for conducting wrong-site surgery on a patient. Specifically, Dr. Criscuolo removed the wrong part of the vertebra during spinal surgery, though he realized his error and performed surgery at the correct site shortly after.
