Texas Surgery Center Named Third Level 1a Accredited Bariatric Center in State

The University of Texas Medical Branch Center for Obesity and Metabolic Surgery has been named a Level 1a Accredited Bariatric Center by the American College of Surgeons Bariatric Surgery Center Network, making the center the third in Texas with the Level 1a designation, according to a Galveston Daily News report.

Level 1a centers have shown the capacity to manage and have committed resources to provide complete bariatric surgical care.
