Physicians’ Eye Surgery Center earns AAAHC accreditation: 5 key notes

The Physicians’ Eye Surgery Center earned accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Here are five things to know about the Physicians’ Eye Surgery Center:

1. The freestanding ASC focuses on eye procedures and is an APEX Quality Award winner.

2. Kerry D. Solomon, MD, one of the center’s surgeons, was named the 2016 president of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

3. The surgery center is affiliated with AmSurg and has received the Cataract Innovator distinction.

4. There are 15 physicians involved with the center.

5. Procedures performed at the center include cataract surgery, corneal transplants, cryotherapy, eyelid surgery, implantable contact lenses and glaucoma surgery. The center also includes refractive surgery and laser-assisted cataract surgery.
