“Our association has long been a proponent both of compliance and transparency related to licensed facilities, so we’re very pleased by the advent of this new website,” said Larry Trenk, president of the NJAASC, in the release. “We’re very proud of our record in terms of working with DHSS, and any additional source of information for consumers is extremely beneficial.”

Mr. Trenk noted that ASCs are the only category of licensed medical facilities to have been designated for such an inspection-focused website. While the state has received an average of 2,600 annual complaints related to all categories of licensed facilities during the past several years, less than 0.5 percent of these complaints each year have been specifically related to an ASC.
