The bill would come a few months after a VA investigation found a dentist at Dayton VA Medical Center’s dental clinic violated infection control policies, including proper cleaning of tools and equipment, according to earlier reports. Evidence revealed the dental service management knew of the policy violations but did not take corrective action.

At least 535 veterans were put at risk by the practices, according to the Dayton Daily News report.
