The second surveyor will be a life safety code surveyor and will work with ambulatory surgery centers which select the Medicare deemed status option or are seeking AHC accreditation and are classified as ambulatory healthcare occupancy, according to a blog post on Ambulatory Buzz.
The second surveyor will attend the survey for one day. The reporting process for the survey report will not change as a result of the additional surveyor, according to The Joint Commission.
