Joint Commission Issues Several Revisions for Laboratory Deeming

The Joint Commission has announced it has revised several elements of performance to meet the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988.

The revisions were made following a review of The Joint Commission’s application for deeming authority for clinical laboratories by CMS.

Changes were made to:

  • LD.04.05.09, EP 2
  • QSA.02.01.01, EP 2
  • QSA.05.09.01, EP 2
  • QSA.08.03.01, EP 5
  • QSA.08.04.01, EPs 5, 7
  • QSA.08.05.01, EP 2
  • QSA.08.06.01, EP 4.

 

The revisions take effect Feb. 1.
