Joint Commission Issues Report Explaining Rationale and Research Behind New Standards

The Joint Commission has published a new report which describes the rationale behind new Joint Commission standards, National Patient Safety Goals and performance measures.

The electronic bulletin also documents the supporting research and scientific data behind the development of the requirements.

 

The bulletin, titled “R3 Report — Requirement, Rationale, Reference”, will be published on an as-needed basis when new standards, NPSGs and performance measures are instituted, according to a news release from The Joint Commission.
