Iowa Endoscopy Center achieves accreditation: 5 key notes

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care granted Iowa Endoscopy Center accreditation in the past few months. Here are five things to know about the center:

1. Iowa Endoscopy Center is a freestanding facility that the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy has recognized with their Endoscopy Unit Recognition Award since 2010.

2. Services at the center include upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and hemorrhoid banding.

3. There are 10 physicians on staff at the endoscopy center who have a special interest in Crohn’s Disease, liver disease, hepatitis and inflammatory bowel disease.

4. The center also has The Joint Commission accreditation and Medicare certification.

5. The endoscopy center keeps data for adenoma detection rate, cecal intubation rate, colon perforation rate, post-polypectomy bleed, withdrawal time and patient satisfaction.
