Illinois Surgery Center in Moline Responds to Infection Citation Report

The Regional Surgicenter in Moline (Ill.) has issued a statement, published in The Quad-City Times, in response to the ambulatory surgery center’s listing in a recent report identifying ASCs in the state that had received citations for infection control problems during the past year.

The response, attributed to Kay Wynn, the ASC’s administrator, discussed the reason for the citation — lack of proper certification for the individual overseeing the center’s infection control program — and the process by which the ASC has resolved the deficiency.

Ms. Wynn goes on to defend the quality care provided at the surgery center, noting the infection control citation was the ASC’s first.
