Henry Ford Hospital Study: Prostate Cancer Surgery Improves Survival

Men who receive prostate cancer surgery over not receiving treatment increase their likelihood of survival, according to researchers at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

The study found that patients who received radiation treatment for prostate had a 68 percent chance of survival, compared to 51 percent who did not receive any treatment.

The study was presented at the 2010 American Urology Association’s annual meeting.
