Former AAAASF interim COO becomes executive director: 4 things to know

The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities appointed a new executive director.

 

Four things to know:

1. Thomas S. Terranova, JD, has succeeded interim executive director Lisa Stichert as the organization's next permanent executive director.

2. Mr. Terranova previously served as interim COO, director of accreditation and director of legislative and external relations at AAAASF. He left the organization to become a corporate attorney at Greenberg Traurig before returning to take on his current role.

3. During his previous tenure at AAAASF, Mr. Terranova led initiatives to achieve CMS deeming status and was able to continually improve the AAAASF CMS Performance Measure scores. He also led efforts to contract with a large life safety code organization.

4. Mr. Terranova earned his JD in international and comparative law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law; he is pursuing an MBA in international business from the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago.
