Here are six takeaways:

1. The Diagnostic and Interventional Surgical Center in Marina del Rey, Calif., and the DISC Surgery Center in Newport Beach, Calif., were found to have no deficiencies in any areas by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

2. These accreditations will extend for another three year period.

3. More than 6,000 ASCs across the United States have been accredited.

4. The screening by the AAAHC is entirely voluntary, but not every center that chooses to undergo the survey gets accredited.

5. The AAAHC accreditation process involves an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by AAAHC expert surveyors, made up on physicians, nurses and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory healthcare.

6. Last year, DISC formed a joint venture with Surgical Care affiliates, and announced in early 2015 it expanded its insurance contracts to include Anthem Blue Cross for in-network services at both of its ASCs.
