Bayside Endoscopy Center receives accreditation: 5 things to know

Bayside Endoscopy Center of the University Endoscopy Group received accreditation earlier this year, according to an AAAHC newsletter.

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care conducted the survey and granted accreditation earlier this year. Here are five things to know about Bayside Endoscopy Center:

1. Bayside is a freestanding surgical facility focused on performing gastroenterology and endoscopy procedures.

2. The administrator is Kathy Abiri, RN, and the clinical manager is Janice Goff, RN.

3. There are 14 GI physicians associated with the center.

4. The University Gastroenterology Network has established a close working relationship with the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

5. The University Endoscopy Group physicians Joseph Pianka, MD, William Chen, MD, and Paul Akerman, MD, are using a new treatment for Barrett’s Esophagus with dysphasia using radiofrequency ablation.
