The center’s “survey liaison” should be prepared for the surveyor and accompany the surveyor throughout the center, according to the report. The key items your liaison should have include:
• A prepared workspace for the surveyor that includes access to an electric outlet and enough room for procedural manuals, charts and personal files.
• All financial records, committee meeting minutes, credentialing files, narcotics log, waste log and surgical log in addition to other requirements from the application form.
• Contracts, preventative maintenance records, licenses and inspections all in separate notebooks and organized for easy access.
