Aker Kasten Eye Center in Florida gets accreditation: 5 key notes

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care granted approval to Aker Kasten Eye Center in Boca Raton, Fla.

Here are five things to know about the Aker Kasten Eye Center:

1. The eye center was opened in the mid 1980s and includes laser-assisted cataract surgery. The center also includes glaucoma treatment and surgery, as well as cosmetic enhancements.

2. There are seven physicians associated with the center, including Alan B. Aker, MD, and Ann G. Kasten Aker, MD, the co-founders and directors.

3. The surgery center includes a femto laser for cataract surgery and premium IOLs.

4. There are two fully-equipped operating suites in the surgery center and a third suite devoted to the femtosecond laser.

5. The surgery center is attached to the eye practice and is Medicare-certified.
