AAAHC’s Medicare and Medicaid Deeming Authority Renewed by CMS

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC/Accreditation Association) has announced that it has had its Medicare and Medicaid deeming authority renewed through 2012 by CMS.

This renewal means that ASCs undergoing a AAAHC/Medicare deemed status survey and receiving accreditation are not only meeting or exceeding AAAHC’s standards but are also doing so for the standards mandated for participation in Medicaid and Medicare programs, thus allowing ASCs to treat and receive reimbursement for treatment of Medicare and Medicaid patients.

The AAAHC has held deemed status for ASCs since 1996.
