AAAHC accredits Siouxland Surgery Center — 5 things to know

Siouxland Surgery Center in Dakota Dunes, S.D., received accreditation earlier this year, according to an AAAHC newsletter.

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care conducted a survey at the center and granted approval in the first quarter of 2015. Here are five things to know about the Siouxland Surgery Center:

1. The center is licensed as a specialty hospital capable of same-day surgery.

2. The specialties include gastroenterology, neurosurgery, orthopedics and pain management.

3. The facility received the Women’s Choice Award as one of the best hospitals for patient experience.

4. The center has been open for 20 years and was one of the region’s first free-standing surgery centers.

5. The specialty hospital has 40 beds.
