The Richmond, Va.-based Medarva Stony Point Surgery Center achieved accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Here are three things to know:

1. The facility is licensed by the Virginia Department of Public Health.

2. The center offers colorectal, eye, gynecological, hand, orthopedic and plastic surgery, among other services.

3. The center has special child-friendly areas for pediatric patients. Parents of pediatric patients are allowed in the preoperative and postoperative recovery areas.
