AAAASF Seeks Authority in Accrediting Outpatient Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Services

The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities has applied for recognition as an authority in accrediting providers of outpatient physical therapy and speech-language services that wish to be participants of the Medicare or Medicaid programs, according to a news release.

The Social Security Act requires that HHS publish a notice that identifies the national accrediting body making the request within 60 days of receipt of an organization’s complete application. It must also describe the nature of the request and provide at least a 30-day public comment period.
