3 ways ASCs can prepare for an accreditation survey

ASC management company Pinnacle III offered the following tips for ASCs preparing for an accreditation survey from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

1. Post sufficient notice of the survey. When undergoing an accreditation survey, ASCs are required to post public notice of the survey at least 30 days prior to the date.

2. Prepare space for surveyor and gather documents. ASCs are asked to prepare space for an AAAHC surveyor to go over documents, conduct interviews and talk about survey findings. ASCs are also notified in advance of documents to prepare before the survey takes place

3. Complete plan of correction. If deficiencies are found during the survey, ASCs will receive instructions on how to correct them and a timeline for submitting corrections.
