American Anesthesiology, a subsidiary of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based MEDNAX, has acquired Wilmington (N.C.) Anesthesiologists, a physician group practice that provides anesthesia services for more than 39,000 cases annually, including surgical, obstetrical and cardiovascular patients, according to a MEDNAX news release.

Weitzel-Kern Surgery Center at Fremont (Ohio) Memorial Hospital recently added Aleeta Somers-DeHaney, MD, a board-certified anesthesiologist, to its staff, according to a report by the News-Messenger.
