1. Executive Vice President and School of Medicine Dean Sharon Anderson, MD, later expressed her gratitude for Dr. Kirsch’s leadership in a statement to staff.
2. OHSU Health System CEO and Executive Vice President John Hunter, MD, will head the anesthesiology and perioperative medicine department until an interim chair is named.
3. An OHSU representative did not give Oregon Live an explanation about why Dr. Kirsch was removed.
4. Dr. Kirsch hasn’t been disciplined by the Oregon Medical Board or involved in recent lawsuits, according to Oregon Live.
5. Dr. Kirsch will retain his professorship. He joined OHSU in 2002.
