The first NAPA brief, titled “Introducing the Post-Reform Accountable Care Perioperative Hospital,” contrasts the traditional OR management method with new approaches. It outlines five steps for hospitals to improve efficiencies, quality improvements and cost control programs.
The second brief is “Aligning Your Anesthesia Department with Hospital Expectations for Operating Room Efficiency and Effectiveness.” It outlines the importance of physician leadership and accountability in anesthesia and how key players can improve OR use and outcomes.
Six briefs in all will be released, two at a time. The briefs can be found on NAPA’s website.
