2. He has planned on-site multidisciplinary team training, led multimedia material creation and emphasized effective communication skills to reinforce patient safety at Rutgers and West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health.
3. Dr. Lewis previously served as Boston Medical Center’s anesthesiology chief for more than two decades, leading a department that received several national patient safety awards.
4. At Rutgers and RWJBarnabas Health, he aims to collaborate with nursing and surgical leaders to create an Integrated Procedural Platform similar to the one he created at Boston Medical Center.
5. The IPP would have the ultimate goal of creating a high reliability organization dedicated to achieving zero medical errors.
