The Decatur (Ill.) Memorial Hospital Nurse Anesthesia Program has marked its 60th anniversary.

Founded in 1955 by a group of local anesthesiologists, the program has trained more than 500 CRNAs who have gone on to serve patients across Central Illinois and beyond, according to a Sept. 19 WAND News report.

Now affiliated with Decatur-based Millikin University, the 36-month program combines doctoral-level nursing coursework, anesthesia-specific training and clinical rotations at Decatur Memorial. Scholarships through the Decatur Memorial Foundation help support students pursuing the specialty.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
