3. The defendant Dr. Jay K. Joshi was indicted on four counts of prescribing hydrocodone for illegitimate medical purposes Jan. 18., The Northwest Indiana Times reports. He had allegedly issued more than 6,000 prescriptions for controlled substances since April 2017.

5. A notice on the National Pain Centers website states, "There is only one 'National Pain Centers' and one 'Dr. Jay Joshi' that are internationally recognized in the field of pain management. While imitation is 'the sincerest form of flattery,' we consider them counterfeit. We are the original 'National Pain Centers' and 'Dr. Jay Joshi' and as the saying goes, we are 'often imitated, but never duplicated.'
